CHATEAU DU PRIEURE DES MOURGUES

The vineyard of « Château du Prieuré des Mourgues » is located on steep slopes, oriented towards the south. For several generations, we are a family of wine grower in Saint-Chinian. Our vineyards are in the north part of Saint-Chinian. The soil is make up of out standing schist who gives to the wine a very typical aromas and structure. The Saint-Chinian Appellation Contrôlée covers 3300 hectares situated at 25 km North West of Béziers, in the Languedoc-Roussillon, south of France. The total superficies is 20 hectares situated in the schistous area of Saint-Chinian. At “Château du Prieuré des Mourgues”, we grow Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre.

DOMAINE DES ASPES

The vineyard of “Domaine des Aspes” are situated in Saint-Genies-de-Fontedit (15Km North West of Beziers ) in Languedoc-Roussillon. The total superficies of the domain is 15 hectares: 3 ha Chardonnay, 5 ha Merlot and7 ha Viognier. The average yield per hectare is very low around 3500 litters per hectare. The soil is argilo-calcaire. The mix of clay in the soil is perfect to grow white grapes vineyards. Because it give to the wine a good acidity witch is very important in our hot climate. The work in the vineyards is very respectful for the nature, so we only use organic fertilizer, no pesticide. The wines of “Château du Prieuré Des Mourgues” and “Domaine des Aspes” received a lot of distinctions in the Guide Hachette, in Wine Competition like Concours Général Agricole in Paris, and several revues in Wine Magazine …
